LIFE IS A HIGHWAY

On Feb 24th 2011 we will start our "LIFE IS A HIGHWAY" journey.

We hope you enjoy our posts and photos.

We will head to Sth Aust first taking in Narracourt, Port Elliot, maybe Kangaroo Island, then up to Mt Barker near Adelaide. From there we will head to the Yorke Peninsula where we hope to spend about 1 month doing a bit of swimming, fishing and relaxing. We will then head toward Coober Pedy & then onto Uluru, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs by around Easter time.

From there will will continue north as far as Katherine where we will turn left and head WEST to Kununurra taking in the Gregory NP (camping in the tent.)

Whilst in the Kununurra area we will store the caravan for a little while & camp in the tent doing the top part of the Gibb River Rd travelling along the Old Kurunjie Road to the Pentacost River. We will visit Home Valley Station (where the movie Australia was filmed) camp along the river for a few nights. Then back up to El Questro station for a few more nights before returning to Kununurra to collect the caravan. Then back on the highway again. We will leave the caravan at Warman for a while whilst we go camping in the tent into the Bungle Bungles. We will pick the caravan up then onto Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing and then onto Derby. The caravan will once again be stored for a few weeks while we do a serious job on the better part of the Gibb River Road. We will take in Windjana Gorge/Tunnel Creek, Bell Gorge, Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary, Manning Gorge, Mt Hart, Mt Elizabeth, then onto Drysdale Station, Mitchell Plataeu (Mitchell Falls) & Kalumburu then back Derby pick the van up and head to Broome for 6-8 weeks. After that we will head south along the West Coast to Barn Hill, 80 mile beach maybe Pardoo Station & Marble Bar, then through Port Hedland onto Onslow and Exmouth, Coral Bay (Ningaloo Reef) for a bit of snorkling, Quobba Station near Carnarvon, then into Mt Augustus, Denham (near Monkey Mia) Kalbarri, Geraldton then along the new coastal road to Perth. After Perth we may visit the Wave Rock then onto Esperance, then across the Nullabor call into Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsular in Sa then maybe call into the Flinders Ranges, Renmark, Mildura, Bendigo and back to Melbourne sometime in December....... That was a mouthfull.
